Batchwood held their last Open Day of the season on Bank Holiday Monday. We were delighted to be inundated by members of the public wishing to try their hand at bowls. Rain had been threatened but we were able to continue play the whole afternoon. Many expressed a wish to continue their interest in the sport of bowls.
We also welcomed a group from the U3A who, by special arrangement, had come along for 4 weeks ably run by our newly qualified Coach Sue Swain.
We had expected a group of people with learning disabilities to attend. Unfortunately we understand that they had difficulties with their coach transport. They must have been so disappointed. We will welcome them on a future occasion.
