BATCHWOOD HALL BOWLING CLUB – PRESS REPORT – 11th August 2025
Jackie Bell, the Batchwood Ladies’ champion, played Catherine Dann, Ladies champion, of Welwyn Garden City. Jackie won 22 – 10. She now proceeds to play in the semi-finals of the Champion of Champions.
The Ladies played a District League match against Harperbury. The Home team of Liz Walls, Yvonne McCauliffe, & Sue Swain lost 14 – 16 at home. The away team of Sandra Clark, Brenda Bennitt & Jackie Bell won 23 – 12. Winning the game overall Batchwood gained 20 points to Harperbury’s 10 points.
The men played a County League (2 rinks) at Potters Bar. They lost one rink, won one rink, and lost overall so received only 2 points out of a possible 6.
Batchwood BC are running a league called the Integra League (afternoons & evenings every Thursday) the brainchild of our member George Tutt. It has been very successful in previous years and is proving to be the case this year too. The league is designed to introduce our new(er) members to our more experienced players so that they can experience the ‘thrill of playing bowls in a competitive game’. It is once again proving to be very popular and will continue until the end of the season.
