BATCHWOOD HALL BOWLING CLUB – PRESS REPORT 28th JULY 2025
Joyce Hopkinson & Yvonne McCauliffe played Elaine Wuicko and Linda Draycott away at Shire Park in the St Albans & District Ladies (SADLBA) Australian Pairs competition. The game is played in sets. The teams tied one-all so an extra set had to be played. The Batchwood team won 2 – 1 and are through to the next round.
Sue Swain and Jenny Gauthier played Sue Power and Sharon Astley of Potters Bar at home also in the SADLBA Australian Pairs competition. After two sets the teams tied one-all. Batchwood won the extra set 2 – 0 and are through to the next round.
Jenny Gauthier played Kamala Jassel of Townsend away in the Ladies District singles and won 21 - 17. Sue Swain played Anne-Marie Stuart-Reid of Harpenden in the Ladies District singles and also won 21 – 17.
The Ladies played Hemel Hempstead in the District Triples League. The home team won 30 – 9, the away team lost 14 – 23. Batchwood win 4 points , Hemel 2 points.
The Men played Townsend in the District Triples League. The men won at home 16 – 13, the away team won 19 – 18. Batchwood won all the points.
